Catherine

Catherine received her Marodyne back in February 2023 and has been using it twice a day ever since.

Here is her story, in her own words:

“Back in 2021 and 2022, I was having a difficult time. I injured myself on a hike and had an X-ray, with my doctor telling me to rest up and wait to see a hip specialist.

At the same time, I was having difficult menopausal symptoms, was told my osteopenia had worsened, was diagnosed with a fatty liver and had a malignant melanoma diagnosis. This resulted in me needing three operations on my leg which subsequently went on to become infected twice, requiring lots of antibiotics!

Eventually I had an MRI scan and was diagnosed with hamstring tendinopathy, sacroiliitis and scoliosis.

By this time, I had lost my mobility almost completely. I needed a disabled toilet seat, my sofas were put on blocks, I had to crawl to get up the stairs, needed help dressing and was in constant pain.

All of this caused a lot of stress and anxiety which was compounded by long waits for results and appointments. My hair started falling out in clumps.

During this time I did a lot of googling and found out about the Marodyne. I was excited to hear about its benefits and it gave me hope.

I had previously had a DEXA scan in 2017 as I had a history of malabsorption and a family history of osteoporosis. The scan showed that I had osteopenia.

In 2022, my repeat DEXA scan revealed a rapid decline and the doctor suggested I take alendronic acid, which I decided against.

I was still in lots of pain, very weak and had very poor mobility when I started to use the Marodyne. I could only do a 3 minute walk a day at the start, but each day I used the Marodyne I tried to gradually increase my activity levels.

I felt my legs getting stronger. A year later I managed to start physio and eventually went back to pilates. Alongside use of the Marodyne I started HRT patches and taking supplements.

My husband also uses the Marodyne, because his father had osteoporosis. He also feels he has better muscle tone in his legs.

Mentally, the Marodyne has made me feel so much better. On days when I cannot exercise, I still feel like I am doing something beneficial for my bones.

At my recent REMS scan, Dr.Nick Birch, who I highly recommend, said that the bone density in my hips has increased from -2.4 to -2.3. He also said my bone strength was good and that this was most likely due to the use of the Marodyne.

I strongly feel that the Marodyne has helped me to recover from my injuries. I feel like my body is finally back to normal and it is wonderful to be free of pain.”
